Top of Indian Pass

The drop through the canyon was like 15 miles of awesome scenery. From the high country to the high desert. Made it into Colorado late afternoon. Wyoming tomorrow.

Going up Indian Pass

I have a new appreciation for the Beauty of Utah. I have always just ran through Utah except for Moab. The back roads today sometimes awed me for miles.

Camp 7-28

Camped off the highway 50 in Utah. Just pulled of the road. This is sunset looking toward Great Basin National Park. Iron butted 550 miles or so that day. Average 45 mph including stops not bad on a Ural.

Love highway 50

July 28th crossed Nevada in one day. There are a lot of high passes 7000ft. plus and the bike ran great.

Darn it!

So I left on the 25th heading towards Markleeville in Alpine county. One of my favorite spots in California. The next day headed for Nevada getting hailed on and a little rain. Decided I had plenty of gas so just ran through Carson City and headed east on highway 50. About 10 miles down the road lost a bolt to my exhaust and decided to turn around and head back to Carson since they have a few bike shops. I pulled into Mike’s shop and realized I had lost my wallet and who knows where. Thanks to the shop for giving me the parts. Then went to Wells Fargo a block away. With no ID I had to answer a few questions like what was your last withdrawal. Everyone laughed when I said $300.00 that is in my wallet. So I got enough money for gas and decided to head home to cancel my credit cards and such. Stopped at the DMV in South Tahoe and applied for a replacement license. In and out in a half hour so I’m feeling better. For some reason I had my Bluetooth on in my helmet and my phone rang. I thought it was a sales call but went ahead and answered. It was AAA saying they had a person on the line that found my wallet YAHOO! They had found it on the MET next to Monitor pass and lived in Cameron Park a half hour from where I was. Thank you so much Collin for the good Karma. I wish the best to you and your family and great fishing. So back home now and I plan on trying again today to get out of here. May have to iron butt a bit to make up time. I feel lucky for the way it worked out. Dang rabbit took me in a 300 mile circle.

“Follow The White Rabbit”.

A couple of people have asked me why follow the white rabbit. Here is my favorite definition. Pretty heavy man.

Whether you take it literally or metaphorically. Following the white rabbit means, to follow an unlikely clue, an innocuous unbelievable sign, to find oneself in the midst of more or less normal to extraordinary, marvelous, amazing circumstances that challenge one’s fundamental beliefs, expands one’s horizons and or perception of realities, transform one’s perspective and change one’s life.

Go towards the adventure!
