The cable car takes you from Quito (9600ft) up to 13000ft. Then the trail takes you into the clouds to 16000ft the top of the volcano.

Quisato Equatorial Monument
Twice a year when the sun is directly overhead there is no shadow as the sun shines down the tube for a couple of seconds. After visiting the equator stopped in the market in Otavalo. Then spent the afternoon in Cotacachi.

Funny things here. You can have someone stand 10ft away and pinch their fingers together and you can’t pull their fingers apart easily. Then have them stand on the equator and it’s no problem.
